Stock Location Intercooler Install.

Ok, Ive read and read the articles in GMHTP magazine, is it really true that I have to disconnect the sway bar or not? Is there anything else I should know before I go wrastling this thing in there? Intercooler in question is 21row CAS V4

My Mease 25 row(yes 25 I counted MANY times) was a PITA to line up,4 hour install including breaks with just me installing it.Sway bar removed wouldve made 0 difference.I even installed the shroud in my driveway witout the car being jacked up.Wasnt hard at all but it does take a while to line everything up.

No problems with the CAS.
Might remove fan for easier install.
I also don't run my IC fan because I don't want it going into a high dollar IC and it also allows easier install.
I had to recock my turbo to line up better.

CAS

CAS install should be relatively easy. If I remember correctly.....the mounting bracket uses the water pump bolt with a spacer...so the only thing you might have to worry about is coolant on your driveway. You may have to cut the opening in the shroud slightly (where it wraps around the sway bar.....depending on how the IC sits.

I didnt have to remove my fan and dont see why youd have too

Also,the IC fan is on there for a reason and its called heatsoak.Mease said they(stock IC fan) flow ALOT.Said it about took off which im sure is an exageration but u get the point

If you line it up right and take your time you should have no worries about your IC hitting the fan.That is unless you hit a bump big enuff in itself to mess up your IC then puching it into the fan.

Leave it on.

The fan does not have to be removed but it makes it alot easier.
I removed the IC fan not because of hitting but if the blades break from old age, they might go thru the IC.

I am installing a 17 row Mark Jackson IC over the weekend.

You guys that removed the plastic IC fan aren't you a little worried about getting stuck in traffic and getting hot??

Also, the rolling chassis that I bought already has the front sway bar removed. I plan on this car doing more street driving than racing. Should I go ahead and put the sway bar from the wrecked car on to the roller? The IC already has the notch for it.
