stock rpm gauge not working?????

Well my gauge had been working fine since the first time i bought the car, but then suddenly i went to the car a it doesnt work just one bar is on an it isnt reading the rpm's what couldoff gone wrong,

quick fix for this problem.... 2" stip of black electrical tape.

They all do it in time, the LED's kinda suck.
