I did some searching, but couldn't the answer...so here is the question:

What are the stock shift RPMs for the 200r4?

Thanks,
Nate

WOT shifts?

All the turbo Regals I've owned were all pretty consistently shifting around 4800-5000.

Hi Dave...

Sorry should have posted WOT. Mine is shifting around there, maybe just a little shy of 4800, just wasn't sure what was "normal".

Thanks,
Nate

This is a fact

5000 is typical.
The higher the HP or torque the higher the shift point.
Just opening a dump will increase shift points.
Not a lot, but some.

Thanks for the reply...

So i think i have read that one thing to check out if the WOT shift rpms are low is the TV cable. The TV valve might be a little sticky, so take the TV cable and pull it in and out 20 times and try resetting it. I know my TV could be finer tuned. I have to let off the throttle sometimes to let it shift up into 4th. I be curious to see how much the TV cable plays into shift points.

(it is an 85 trans, with the CK performance shift kit, servo, 700r4 oil pickup, with 90 k on the clock. It has an IC motor in front of it)

Thanks,
Nate

Converters with high slip will %'s shift at higher rpm. The driveshaft speed is the determining factor. If you were to lock the converter and let it shift it would shift at a lower rpm.
