Stock Turbo

I would like to buy a new stock turbo or rebuilt one, my stock turbo has some play in it (170k miles) is there any place to get one besides Kirban. I don't have any problem with kirban, just wondering it there is any other place to get one. I don't want any from Ebay.

You could send your stocker to John at Limited Eng. and he could convert it to a TA 49 for about the same price as you'll pay for a new stocker.

you could buy a rebuild kit and fixer up yourself. That's what I plan on doing. As long as you mark everything everything else seems to be pretty straight forward. They show an exploded view in the ebay ads from gpopshop. 89 bucks shipped for full rebuild kit and comes with EVERYTHING you need

I did that once before.The turbo only lasted about a year before it started spewing oil again.I think some of the components not included in the kit probably had some wear and tear on them.At least the turbo got me through another year until I had some money to upgrade to a bigger turbo.

PTE still sells the cartridge section for the stock turbo. Thats the center sections with wheels installed. All you do is reuse your housings. Its about 360.00

Not too sure where you are located but I had mine rebuilt for a VERY reasonable price. PM me if you want more info.

Thank for the help, but I really need one to replace the one I have. I use my GN as a daily driver. When I replace the one I have, then I will have the stock one rebuilt.

Don't know what your plans for the car is, but just go with a TA-49 or TA-60. Stock looking, still passes smog, and can run hard if and when you build your car.
