How long would you say a rebuilt trans should be left sitting. I am in the process of rebuilding one for myself but I don't need it so it is going to sit in an unheated garage for a while maybe years. Is this a bad thing or will it have no effect on the trans?

One trick to control moisture is get a knee hi stocking and put about 8oz. of rice in it then tie a knot. Put it inside the trans pan then seal up the openings. When you get ready to use it don't forget the rice. LOL! You can also pour trans fluid over the clutches that can be accessed before you put it to use too while you have the pan off removing the rice pack.
