Can anybody tell me what is up with this?

I ran lean due to lost ground. I limped it home, but if I gave it really any gas, it would ping. Pistons are fine, but rings are obviously no good.

I have about 10 miles on the motor, with some idle time for tuning.

Rod bearings are in great condition.

ring lands are fine. Forged pistons. I am wondering if the machine shop didn't bore it out enough.
 
Whats is your ring gap. I know its along shot, but sometimes the bored taper causes ring end gap to decrease to a minimum at the bottom of its travel. Not to mention, when the rings heat up they expand causing the end gap to lessen. Especially on turbo cars that build a lot of heat in the combustion chambers.

Wow, that is the best response I got, and guess what, you are correct.

I just figured it out about 20 minutes ago. I have no ring gap. I was supposed to file the rings, but I also thing is was the machine shop's fault. I don't think they bored it enough, because for my patictular engine, nobody has ever had to file thier rings, or at least not that I have heard.

At least now you know. I am always sure to check the small things like that just in case. Maybe im just perenoid but I always re-check my machine shops work. They have yet to let me down but hey. GL with getting it back together.
