Howdy all - I'll be in Chicago (Rosemont) from September 22 to october 2nd (with no rental car) anything around exciting to do?
I think I am staying at Sofitel O'hare or Embassy suites we're not 100% yet on hotel just on the dates

hey whats up its gabe from li, i dont know about chicago, but whats the adress to your avatar, guys at work wanan see it
thank you

I put a post on turbobuicks and someone forwarded me the link a long time ago I dont even remember where it came from

Okay... you want to get downtown somewhere near State and Rush Streets..not too far from the John Hancock building. Lots of restaurants and clubs, shopping, etc. Plenty of hotels around there - screw O'Hare.

If you're single (or even if you're not, but like to look/flirt/etc), the State-Rush intersection is called "the Viagra Triangle" by the locals. There's a reason that Hugh Hefner started Playboy there. I've been around the world - literally - and have never and I mean NEVER seen so many gorgeous women.

Take a cruise down wicker blues brothers style:cool:

There really Isn't jack around O-hare if you don't have transportation. Volo auto museum is kinda close to ohare. Thats all I can think of

I know it sucks not to have a rental car I will see what I can come up with

you can take the Blue Line(train) from Rosemont to downtown. There is not much to do in Rosemont.

I should be picking up my new stage 2 GN in the next week or two and if you would be interested in going to the track, I'll be taking it middle of Oct.

I hope to only be there from sept 28th until october 2 or 3rd
but I'm down to do stuff within that time

If you have to stay in Rosemont ,stay at the Sofitel,,Very nice place,,then walk out the front door and go right on higgins to Mortons Steak House,,actuall y like right next door to the Sofitel.

Take the train down toun and find a Pizza place called Uno's or Duo's,,the Uno's franchicse chain has nothin on these 2 pizza joints,,or go to Michigan ave and eat at the Cheese Cake Factory Restaurant,,excellent food....

HTH
:)

Gibsons is right next door to the Rosemont Suites hotel. Volo is not close to O'Hare at all. Lemee think for a while I will come up with something close by, but I will be on vacation while you are in. I only live about 5 miles from the Sofitel, but I am in the city. Get downtown, go to Jillys, Gibsons(downtown), any just about any other bar in the area. Go to a Cub game. Hang out in Wrigleyville.(blue line Addison exit get on the bus east, and you can't miss it) I will think of more.

VERY cool thanks a lot guys !!! I heard morton's is expensive ?
I get $50 a day spending money for food and travel to food :(
I try not to spend the $50 - last time I used the $ to buy my tranny and torque converter :D
How about junkyards? any in the area - like e-z pull or something?

Another trip coming up to Chicago between Veteran's day (Nov 11) and My birthday (Nov 27) Any other suggestions I will have a rental car thsi time around, so I will be ready for the track - lol

Chris, Chicagoland Chapter is having their November meeting on Sunday, November 16 at ANS in Melrose Park. This is a tech session, taking place at an engine rebuilder and featuring Precision Turbo's crew. Lunch will be available, and then some demos are going on the dyno, in the afternoon. You're more than welcome to join us.

Check our website at chicagolandbuick.org, and look at the events calendar. The year's winding down, but you might like this. Unfortunately, our last race is this coming Sunday.

It might be fun....

Cool deal still working on details they like to wait till the last minute here ... if we can get two rental cars that would be even better !!! Thank you for the info I will do my best !!!

Latest details : arriving in Chicago on the 16th but at 10 at night :( going home Friday night the 21st (well hopefully friday afternoon) I'm sure I will be bored out of my mind at night
and I believe we have access to a rental car - too bad I cant take the rental to the track - lol

What?

Chris on the loose in Chicago again. You should try to see if you can get a earlier flight in Sunday to go to ANS. Drop me a line when you get here.

Steve:D

I wish I could come in earlier, but the 16th is my mom's birthday
so I tried to get the latest flight possible (I still get $50 for teh day from work for food - lol) I dont know if we have one rental car or two, I know there will be a war over that !! I wish I was there at least one weekend day so I could gather up some parts for my 85 im leaving extra room this time in case I see any parts I need
