Sun shell to direct drum engagement

Roughly .250 between sun shell tangs and direct drum. Center support went in and nothing is binding. Thought the two halves should mesh much closer.

Be nice if they did, huh? But they usually have a pretty good gap there. I've never measured it, but it probably lines up with the existing wear pattern on the drum

Does seem like a waste of surface area. Mine has been welded in the past due to wear in that area.
