Anyone have lots of experience with these? I have a 67 model from a Catalina that a friend of mine went thru back in 88 and I want to make sure the valve bodies are specific to this trans. It has the correct pump. Can I apply regular "shift kit" or mods like a normal 400? I already have a built converter on the way and the trans needs to be picked up this Sunday. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. :) I have never built a SP trans and want to make sure I don't miss anything.

same stuff in the shift dept as a 400.be sure the stator tube bushings are perfect, use steel boost valve(vps are aluiminum and usually worn),air check vp valve in pump,be sure wire from pump isnt snagged when pump is installed, and inspect turbine shaft seal ring for wear.

Thank you Chris. You are the man. This thing looks pretty fresh inside but since it has been sitting since 88, I am throwing a banner kit in it anyway since I am the one warrantying it and not my friend. Glad I didn't let it go as is, snap ring for int clutch in wrong. Would have popped out. He had the beveled ring in the wrong spot.
