so the cars running well since coming out of hibernation but i forgot one of the last issues i had before putting her up. upon making spirited runs (im sure getting the oil very hot) then shutting the car off, if i have to restart in less than 10 min or so i notice a loud clicking sound that bears resemblance to a bad lifter. if i let it idle it goes away in a few min or if i leave it off longer it doesnt happen and never when its cold. ive tried MMO before and it didnt work. just wanted to get some input from the gurus before i flip out.
thanks.

Is your set up a roller cam?? If so it could just be one of the link bars shifting back and fourth...If it's a flat tappet cam as mentioned above what is your hot oil pressure??

thanks guys, it is a hydraulic cam - old Crane Cams setup. oil pressure never seems to drop below 20# whether its completely warmed up and driving regular or doing a full out pass.
