hello people; I was just searching for a filter for my new DD and came across Purolator Syn. filter. It says it's made for syn oil and gives an explanation but that's a new one on me. Anyone else not heard of that?

a filter is a filter... some have paper media, some have some other sort of synthetic media... none of them care what kind of oil goes thru them...

hello people; Go to the Purolater site and read what it says. It's probably just a new way to make money but maybe it could be differant. Who knows just another thing that's new to me and maybe others.
My new to me DD is a 2013 Honda CRV and most people recommend the use of a Honda filter but there's a guy who's using a Purolator. The filter is a little bigger holding about 1/2 qt. more but another said that if there's was an engine warrenty problem Honda might give you some grief because your not using a factory one.

Im no expert but I've noticed a diffrence on oil filters, the holes where oil flows thru, some of them have bigger holes than others, i always go with ones that either have bigger holes or have more holes than others, i feel they let more oil flow thru them, which leaves me with a choice of a k&n or mobil 1
