What did you guys use for a dust sheild and how did you mount it. If i drill holes in the Ultra bell to mount one would it void the cert.? Also if I remove the linkage from the steering column would there be a problem, we are not running a computer so there would be no fueling issues.

The only problem by removing the steering column linkage is that you're losing the steering lock and neutral safety switch.

I too am running the same set up. This what I did:

I am using a Cheetah shifter. The shifter came with a switch that attaches to the front of it. I am using this switch as a neutral safety switch. I took the small starter wire off the starter and extended to reach the shifter switch. I then took a wire from the other side of the switch and attached it to the small wire post on the starter. When the shifter is in P or N, the switch is closed and the car could started. If the shifter is in 1,2,3 or R, it won't start.

The locking feature didn't bother me so I left it alone.

I usually run with the torque converter shield off anyway.

Thanks Billy, just what I needed to know about the linkage. We will be using the stock shifter with the rerverse detent plate. We are just worried that somthing on the road could fly up into the flexplate and caulse a problem without a sheild.

Same here. Very little street miles though.

I did run my 200R4 without a cover for about 2 1/2 years and 5,000 miles with no issues if that counts :)
