TA-49? exhaust side

I have at bare minimum a 49 compresser side, but the exhaust looks like a 49 exhaust except for the fact that the exhaust port is rounded out instead of being squared off...is there a reason for this?

Someone probably ported the turbine outlet. This was done to many stock turbos to increase flow with a stock ported elbow.

thanks! that shouldnt negatively affect my spool up should it? does it make much of a difference?...,uch less with an aftermarket downpipe?

Having a ported turbine exhaust housing should not affect spool-up. It never did in my stock turbo when I ported mine. There is an artical on the GNT-Type website on how to port the turbine exhaust housing. It was written way back in the early 1990's by I think Ken Mosher.
