I have been looking around trying to find a good one used and saw some refrence to this turbo having different models. It said that the inside guts were different sizes. I see people post stuff about the ta33 and ta33c. I want the biggest turbo I can fit... is the a difference in the ta33? I am still on the prowl for a used one!!

The TA33C and a TA33 are the same. I have also seen this turbo listed as a Hot Air TA49. They are all the same. This turbo is simply a stock turbo machined out in order to fit the TA49 compressor housing. It increases CFM from around 390 to 700 which is around 30-40 HP increase. Good luck- Brad

won it, now what???LOL i think headers and down up crossover pipes?? anyone chime in here please( what pipes/brands should i get), then alchy inj. , i have to put it all together but have the walbro 340 fuel pump hot wire kit, adj regulater, cold air kit, 87 ecm/coil pack conversion, ported intake, powerlogger, 50lb injectors, alum radiator and elec fans, manual brakes/steering, fiberglass doors, trunk, bumpers, soon hood, gutted intierior, th400 being rebuilt soon with ford 9", drag wheels/slicks.

any tips, may be a while before all together but hope it runs good..

Thank you, it was the most i could spend, i had 400 put away for turbo..the man above must want me to have a fast hot air!!! as soon as i get rid of all my big block buick stuff i will start putting this together..not sure if i will het the track this year but think should be kinda quick..

I have some ideas but I have no clue as to your current modifications. Add them to your signature. Take- care. Brad

ok, i will try and get then in a day or so, the guy i bought it from did abasic rebuild and i have to find that paperwork, most parts are not on car yet, just gathering at moment..but will let you know and thank you, john.

I looked at the turbo also, you may want to get it rebuilt before you put it on...my .02

sounds good, who can do it or is it something you can do yourself..i have a feeling that ya cant but worth asking..

Precision Turbo rebuilt my TA33C for $330 last December. They did a really good job. Thanks- Brad

ok, updated signature, i think i may try and get a run or two this year with turbo and get rebuilt over winter, may not get the time to go to track though. what are some steps I should take next, money tight till I unload the v8 parts, but put together what I can.

I would put a wide band 02 sensor on your test pipe and attach it to your powerlogger. The powerlogger needs an 87 ECM. Next get the 87 TT chip which adjusts A/F ratio. $129. Get a knock gauge-$80. Run 50/50 E85 and 93 octane. Turn up the boost until knock and adjust fueling to around 10 to 1 or11 to 1. Add timing in cell five and six until your car runs good. Just one idea. Brad

test pipe being the gutted cat? i want to get a better downpipe with dump but it does have full exhaust now. I have the ecm, came w/ my power logger. as far as the chip, will th TT chip be good for future mods or is it made for my specs..i have a couple for now;

Turbotweak
1. 5.5 55# street 92 gas 20/18 deg 15-17 psi
2. 5.5 55# alky 23/21 23-25 psi

Extender chip
Part# Bwp34BoF

came with injectors,( they are 55lb not 50lb like I had put before.)

will look for knock gauge - any preference or ones I should stay away from.

just was thinking that I may keep exhaust on it for the moment just to try and sneak into a street night test and tunes - but never know what parts I come across...

Any drawbacks to just running just race gas and alchy.. rather than mixed, this may never see street so im not worried about using it running round town.

Thanks for the tips Brad, hope I can have together soon!

You outbid me  --for that you shall PAY!!! ;) Just kidding!:D :D Good luck with it and keep posting updates on how your car responds to it. I'll keep watching and learning!:D ---Keith

LOL, sorry...but everyone has been great. The guy I won the turbo from is tossin in some extras, Brads been a big help and hope to talk to him more about getting the bugs worked out. Gotta sell another house or dump some other parts before the next big purchase. Track closes end of month so I think it will be trying to pull some wheelies in my buddys parking lot till the spring..
