I am looking for advice concerning the TA33c turbo which I saw in the Postons catalogue. They indicate that there is a 30-40 HP increase with this turbo. I have a 85 GN( all stock except)-a larger camshaft, cold air kit, Ultra chip(programmed stock),Poston headers, Hooker exhaust, hot wire kit, adjustabe waste gate actuator(set to max). The car drives extremely well and is very quick.

Will the new TA33c turbo make any difference? Does the Poston claim of 30-40 HP correct? I am looking for a car that is capable of low 13.5 in the quarter mile. More importantly, can this turbo be installed without other upgrades? I do not want alot of problems added if I should buy this Turbo. Thanks for your help and support. Brad

the T33c is a nice turbo, its alot better then a stocker.
the stocker is roughly 350 cfm, and the T33c is around 700 cfm.

the T33c is basically just a modded out stock turbo, meaning it is a direct bolt up with no modification needed to install.

i think you just need the essential fuel upgrades ( fuel pump hotwire, fp regulator , injectors)

Not to Diss Poston or anything, they do have alot of nice TB products.
But i believe they dont build their own turbos, they have them made for them and they sell them. SO they arent the most knowledgable when it comes to facts and figures

ALot of guys get ahold of Limit Engineering, in AZ.
they do some amazing work. just do a search of "limit engineering" and watch how many threads pop Up

there number is 1 (928) 453-7321

i got my T33c through there and it kicks the stockers ass

its a great choice if u like the stock look, and dont want your car all rigged up just to run.

:)

where can you find/buy this ta33c turbo at?

The TA33C new has to be made. It is not a shelf item. I would call JAYSGN for a price. Limit Engineering and Precision Engineering can build this turbo as well. Call them both. All three will require your existing turbo as a core or buy a core(I have one). This turbo is a stock hot air turbo machined out and a larger TA49 compressor installed. Cfm goes from around 380 to 700. New expect to spend $900 and used 500-600. A blown TA33C core costs around $330 for a rebuild. Brad

My 85 GN went from a 15.2 car all stock to a 13.6 car with the TA-33, blue tops, Joe Lubrandt chip, Poston 107 cam, 3" downpipe, 10" 3000 stall n/l and home pocket ported heads. That turbo made some good power for what my car was. Bruce has it now up in Michigan and he says she runs great with that setup on it still.

Compressor wheel or housing?
Any idea on price on the parts?

Thanks a lot, btw, happy new year everyone, due to work this is my first post in 2010!
