now that's good advice, alot of guy's going fast on alky and the stock turbo.

Don't you need alky anyways with the TA49/TE44 (unless you run race gas)? I thought there was really no advantage of these turbos unless you ran at higher boost levels.

No, both 44 and 49 are more efficient turbos than the stocker at lets say 18 lbs of boost. The stocker will likley detonate at 18 where as the 44 or 49 will more likley not detonate...the 44 or 49 don't have to beat the air as much resulting in hotter air as the stocker. Cooler air always better. Then throw alcy at the 44 or 49 and turn them up to 22 psi and it starts getting tasty!:D

Thanks for all the input..You guys are awesome!! Just installed an sMC alky kit now running 22 lbs no knock But My original turbo is just about done Starting to smoke and oil in intercooler,I know my 3200 converter sounds like overkill especially for a stock turbo but I love the way this car launches compared to the d5.with alky and a new TT alky chip and 22lbs having trouble getting this car to hook will break the tires from a 30 mph roll..Im getting rid of this beat stock turbo before its too late. Wondering if I have enough injector <009> for a 6152..Will probably go with the 44..

with the alky and your 009's you have enough fuel for the GT6152. your converter will also work well. You will however max the injectors out in time. i think you should go with the GT6131E.

Don't bother with either of those turbos, the newer wheels make more power sooner. Go with the 6131 or the 6152, hell I have the 6152S in my 2.0 Talon and it rips.

With your stall it would be a waste to buy a 49 or 44 brand new, step up once and be done ( for now ).

Like others have stated, alky and the 009's will be fine until you start running some big boost or have a crazy amount of mods. You might need to go twin nozzle if you want to keep those injectors at high boost.

newkid, the pt61 does not spool as fast as the ta49.it seems you enjoy the feel of a very quick spooling car based on your post.the pt61 will make more power when maxed out but will spool slightly slower than the 49 even with a 3200 stall, take the ball-bearing option off and the gap widens.both turbos will take you well into the 11sec range.

Hey Doc,,What injectors would work well with the 6131?? I am running 22 psi on alky and dont plan on pushing it past that point on the stock motor..

Te44

this is a great turbo..i went the mph in the sig without locking the stock torque converter with a flairing trans. the car is full weight and did not trap less than 120 every run with low timing or high timing. ..hth.Bob

I would go bigger considering your stall speed. Buy once and be done with it. But I will say if you had a 2800 stall, go with the 44. A MAGNA guy went 11.48 on race gas @ Cecil with a 44 and a 2800 stall modified D5.

I actually went three consistent 12.0s with GREAT 60's back to back on Nov. 17th @ Cecil in my GN. Stock turbo, IC and plenum (all ported); and stock D5 convertor. It has the pump/HW/reg/009s along with a PP and THDP; and the all important Razors PAC. Running through the Hooker exhaust on 28"x10.0" M/T ET Drags. I also cut a 1.58 60' on the STOCK rear suspension, save for replacement cargo coils and KYB shocks. I was running nearly 27~28psi on those runs, with trans issues.

I know I need a turbo. Im considering a TE44 or a TE62. Not sure what stall Im gonna go with yet, so I'll wait to decide. I want the car to retain its street manners yet run like the wind. Cash is the only thing holding me back...:(
