Nothing has happened at this point. The guys at the NOC are going to monitor the box through the evening. We had intended to double the RAM on the machine from 8GB to 16GB but the sales guys where we're hosted said it wouldnt help. Im not sure they understand the hardware requirements that Elastic Search adds to this machine but Im going to let them have a look and see what they think. I also have one of the guys that does a ton of Xenforo work take a look at the server configuration and see if anything stands out.
This may finally be the push we need to buy our own server and deploy it locally in a colo. That way if there are issues, I can drive down there, plug in a laptop and run diagnostics. Kind of hard to do when the server is in Chicago now.

Its always been good for me. Ive never been able to duplicate the problem and its not for lack of trying.

I didn't have any troubles at all til I wanted to see what the hubbub was about in this thread. Now I'm opening multiple windows just to get one to finally load for the past day. Hadn't any trouble before that while everybody else was complaining tho for some reason.... Maybe it's cuz , well, maybe it's just cuz I had my tinfoil hat on momentarily....

Mine came back alive last night.. It seems faster then it has ever been.. I mostly use the iphone app.

I did and while theyre not great, theyre not terrible either and I expected them to stop once you got to WiredTree. Thats where the server is hosted.
Im still digging and Ive pulled in a couple of people that know more about this stuff than I do. I know a little about a lot of stuff but in situations like this, its better to pull in someone that this is all they do so Ive got a SQL guy and a Xenforo guy looking into this. Theres a lot we can do, Im just waiting for their recomendations.

We're moving to a different mobile app shortly. Im building a test version for Android now I may have some people test. Since you really cant sideload through IOS, Im not going to do that for the iPhone/iPad but I need to set up a virtual machine running Mac OSX to get the Apple stuff straightened out anyways.

I am on Charter... Recently it's been real slow loading with some of the times faster but for the most part it's slow here and loading pictures is even worse..
With the help of those guy's I am sure we will have everything working great again or even better...

Some database tweaks have already been put in place. Im going to monitor things over the weekend and see how it goes.
Ive also finally (I think) got the new mobile app ironed out as far as what I needed to set it up and make it work. I have a test build of the Android version running on my phone. If anyone wants to test it, PM me for the link.
The IOS version has to be built with a bunch of stuff required from Mac OSX so Im going to have to set up a Mountain Lion VM under VMWare and see if I can get it configured.

Jay, item number 8 on the traceroute seems to always have high latency, and on the second traceroute that I posted item 13 which is where you are hosted is showing high latency. Is any of this helpful for diagnostics? Being on a Mac and having a fat connection, I dont experience the issues that others have had before but this time was different, it was painfully slow...
