TCC check ball in or out

Just curious about leaving the check ball and retainer out of the input shaft while using a L/U converter. Good or bad idea?

I wouldnt remove it unless the converter manufacturer says its ok or requires it to be removed. Ive done it in nearly stock cars with the factory d5 but i wouldnt do it today with the calibrations most transmissions have or this could happen: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/transmission-talk/223194-plastic-pieces-converter.html
