Last time I had a TE44, I went with the 009's (42.5#) and didn't have any issues with fueling. But, considering how cheap you can get a set of 50's, I would go with those to err on the side of caution. It's always safer/easier to pull fuel out than to worry about having enough.
I'm going up to either 50's or possibly the Motron 60's here shortly to support the next round of upgrades. Last TR I had ended up with mod'd ECM and 72's, but it also had a Limit Eng. 45a, FMIC, race port heads, etc...and needed the big squirters. Probably end up going that nuts on this car eventually....lol.
