Temp sending unit?

Hey i was wondering if anybody had any knowledge on where to get a correct temperature sending unit for my 87, i have a VDO gauge set, and all the local parts stores have the single wire sensor but only for the dummy light. Was wondering if that will work and if not where can i get on that will work with my gauge. Any help would be greatly appreciated

you need to get a sender from VDO for your gauge. i'd also figure out a way to keep the oem sensor for the light intact so you can be warned if it gets hot while you aren't looking right at your gauge..

I dont have a hot light i have the. Vdo replica gnx cluster. I prolly should have specified that. If their is a hot light in there somewhere ive never seen it lol. Ok well i will be on the hunt on VDOs website
