Hello All -

Just replaced the factory fan with the RamChrager Dual fah, much nicer! One question though, what temperature should the low fan come on at, right now the fan's kick on at 200°. So, I was thinking that lower speed came on earlier but I'm not sure???

Also, I'm using Turbo Link and notice my MAT temperature is high, does this matter?

Thanks

Low speed is normally chip controlled anywhere from 160 to 175 in most aftermarket chips.

I guess when and how it comes on now depends on how it's wired up?

Fan harness from a manufacturer or home wiring?

I bought the fan with the GN wiring harness, so it plugs in to the factory harness. I'm thinking that the low speed relay may bad if it should be coming on earlier then 200°??? I haven't changed any of the factory wiring.

Thanks

I've got the same setup, just installed..I've done alot of searching and reading on the fans and the different setups people have, but if I understand correctly(which I probably havent), the RC fans with their adapter will kick on high speed at whatever temp your chip is set at...mine is 175 or so, then the hurricane force winds startup and it cools down pretty quickly ! 200 might be the temp for the overheat circuit ??? maybe your low speed relay is out

That's what I'm thinking... The other catch here is, I have the stock chip. I'm trying to figure out which chip is the best option, so this is my next step, which chip is the one to use???

I think I have a 180 or 190 degree thermostat in my car. Before the RC fans, I would see 200 plus on my VDO temp gauge. After RC fans, temp never hits 180. That is with A/C on in town with 90 degree temps here in central Illinois lately.

I'm thinking my low speed relay is bad then, because there's no fan action until 200°. I'm using the 160° thermostat.
Is this just a standard relay that I can get anywhere or is there a specific one that I need to buy.

as mentioned , if you run a stock chip it doesnt matter what thermostat you put in the car wil run around 190 degrees for emmisions since it will turn off mch sooner

when i put the stock chip in for emmisions it ran hot (195) with no air flow ,
with dual fans and a chip set to turn on at 168 i usually run at around 172 a/c on 90* air temp and stock radiator , and it dips to around 158 between fan cycles

I have to post a correction. today I drove the car with my OTC4000 scan tool. It read 186 degrees while my VDO gauge showed under 180. Temp was about 92 degrees today.
