Mainly a junior dragster event, the track is allowing big cars to show up for Test and Tune in preparation for the first Summit Series event for the year in just 2 weeks.

Donnie,

If I don't go to Fontana and race this weekend on the 15-16th, I'll see you there. Atleast I won't get kicked out of the track on the first couple of runs...lol:D

Ray

Ray, I hope that wasn't you that I heard hit the tree at the stadium last Friday. A friend told me that a GN hit the tree.

Yup that was me, we'll, I almost hit the tree. If it weren't for my superior reflexes, and driving skills, it would have been a dead on hit...lol Anyhow, myself and some of the other higher HP cars were just trying to lay down rubber for traction reasons due to the rains we've recently had. I had his some water, probably from one of the car prior to me and all hell broke loose. Needless to say the track condition was the worse I had ever seen in all the years I've raced there. I was cold! Guys with the low 7.0 - 6.0 cars eventually just loaded their cars back on the trailers and left, of course, I drove home...

We will be there if the Mercedes is back from the shop by then. Supposed to get it back Thurs but we shall see. Hopefully!!!!

LOL
Whew. I'm glad you missed it. Dang.
Don J. was telling me, "You know that guy that pits with you at the track, he got out of shape and hit the tree at the stadium last Friday night."

That's crazy! I already told myself that I wouldn't race there again Atleast until it warms up.

Update Please!

Good seeing you today, and I hope all went well dialing in the Beast. Any Updates? I'll. Let you know how Fontana goes on Sunday.

Made good progress dialing in the new map sensor. A couple more test runs off the nitrous and I should be set to throw the juice at it again.

Well, I just got back from the track at Fontana, man what a long drive! I won't be doing it again for a while... Nice place though, with LOTS of cool cars. People were friendly too, which is always a plus in my book.

Otherwise, it kinda suxed there to be honest with you too. Atleast on this day. Long story short, they wear not able to finish racing on Saturday, so it rolled over into today, which took up most of the morning.

I only got 2 passes in and left around 2PM.

Anyhow, I didn't want to get kicked out on the first pass after being warned by the Tech dude. He told me right off the bat he told someone to leave during the last track outing. I just played stupid, I knew he was talking about FLACO...lol:biggrin:

Anyway on the first pass just to be safe, I shut it down at the 1/8, and coasted through the 1/4 with a 12.586 @ 87 mph, with a 2.437 60ft off the foot break. I assume the burn out was not long enough, and driving a 100 plus mile on the drag radials to get there probably didn't help matters either...

So, here we are after my first pass. The track official announced over the loud speaker that we will only have one pass to get our cars diled in due to time restraints. Well, that was my first pass:mad: and being the newb there I was running the Sportsman class, didn't know which class to run and come to find out, I couldn't go faster than a 12.0 because I was in the Sportsman class....So they say.

Anyway, I'm not a bracket racer so I went all out on my second pass. In a nutt shell, I did a good smokey burnout, boost was at 22-23 psi, timing was 21-19, D/R at 17 Psi and I launched with 3psi. It went 11.12 at 120, 60ft 1.695 not to bad I guess for a car with Hotchkis Suspenion:wink: O knock,
02's were over 800.

All in all, it was a good time. I got a little sun burned, got a decent 1/4 mile ET, what more could a guy ask for.

Ok, going to take a nap now. I hate waking up at 3am!

Ray. Even with the juniors running, I got in EIGHT runs. And you know how I burn up time in the pits on the puter between runs.
32 juniors were running and 20 big cars showed up for test and tune.

Some people from Germany were there to test a Twin Turbo Mercedes against an old road racing Ford Mustang. I think they were there for a magazine article.

Congrats on the low eleven. 10s is rigth around the corner.

Ray, congrats on those times, very nice! Donnie, make any big changes since Pinks? Any big changes with the latest preventive maint?

Lol Pssh what ever ill be back... ill hit another low 11 and go home.

The only change has been installing a 4 bar map sensor in preparation for a fuel supply system change. This lastest track time was the first opportunity I've had to dial it in. It's real close. Within 1-3 percent.
I haven't PM'd the engine yet. I'm going to upgrade the fuel system this year and I want to do the testing of the new system on the old engine. If I get something wrong with the new fuel system, I want to blow the old motor, not a fresh one.

Nice! That makes sense on postponing the freshen until later. Did you decide what you are going to move up to on the fuel system? Are you changing the pump only, or is this going to be a NASAesque setup? ;) I think last I saw you were talking about a crank-driven pump.

Ray, congrats on those times, very nice!

Thanks man. With a little more time, I was sure hoping for that high 10 sec pass with my current tune. Maybe next time...

Donnie glad to hear your making some progress with the Beast! That's amazing you got in 8 runs too. I'm still glad I finally made a good pass with this car at Fontana. I wanted to see where it was at before up grading the fuel system, this BB turbo hasn't even began to breath hard yet.

FLACO - That'd the spirit! I know 10's are right around the coroner for you too.
