I bought extreme automatics builded stage 2 transmission with electric transbrake from board member, it was new. My friend opened transmisson for checking everything is ok.
But he thinks that input and output shafts are not strong enough for my use.

part list says that they are hardened shafts, how much power these can handle?

That is a loaded question.

What HP are you at?

What 60' times do you think are a reasonable expectation?

Input shafts can be had in "billet" and are the strongest..... the output shafts IMHO are strong enough to go way down in the 9's most of the time.

IMHO, if it ain't broke.... don't fix it.

Car should run high 9 sec times, Lots of mods on engine havent get it ready to dyno yet.
Down 9 is enough for the output, input will get lot force with transbrake.
290$ for billet input is not bad, if it brokes it will be lot expensive.... +our season here in Finland will be lost...

This is combo what i will be running i still need reasonable converter for this

Engine are in machine shop, body are allmost ready.
I have no idea for hp rating? But i hope these parts will take me to high nines...

There is some Info on the Hardened Forward Drums in these Articles. I don't take the HP numbers too seriously.
http://www.cpttransmission.com/media.htm

The treated Input Shafts are fairly strong, not like the treated shaft in the Forward Drum.
Stock Input Shaft has been rated at 500HP, not sure what the Cryoed or Heat Treat raises it up to.
There is a Thread on here somewhere with the metalurgy #'s of parts.

Thanks!

Really good articles.

Dont take anything CPT says too seriously on hardened forward drums. They simply DO NOT hold up over time period.
Read this.... it is THE TRUTH about these parts:
http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/threads/attention-new-version-strengthening-the-2004r.31365/
With over 56,000 veiws and 32,000 downloads and 10 or so of the best builders and knowledge of these transmissions contained within, I would tend to believe this article. Read it and comprehend it as it is as good as a bible for this trans.

Don't know about others but our billet shafts were tested at Boeing and were tested both yeild and tensil strength were 1357 ftlbs.

You need the stage 3 Extreme trans. Stage 2 running 9's it'll last but not long.

Special Transmission shop here in Finland has opened my stage2 extreme transmission and they are updating it stronger.
They are installing stronger billet parts, input shaft , forward drum etc... All what stage3 has. They also make some of their own modifications for it.

Should be bulletproof for my T they said.
