So I've decided to go with a TH400. I know I will need a new converter, trans cooler, and to modify the driveshaft, but what else is involved with this swap?

Thanks,

Donnie

I'm pretty sure you will need a new shifter as well, if its a rmvb

shifter linkage issues (for n/s switch, etc.), crossmember, check exhaust clearance, speedo gears, prepare for higher RPM's when driving...

Order the HRPartsnstuff conversion mount.
A dipstick tube and locking dipstick for a TH350 or the Newer 400 dipstick with the grommet instead of the o-ring seal.
Change the yoke on the driveshaft.
Remove the Detent Cable.
Bent the trans lines a little and they will work.
Same shifter cable. Park, reverse, neutral, and drive are in the same spots. No issue there.
G Body parts has the th400 detent bracket for a RMVB.
Converter same as a 350 if you find a deal on one.
Better have the line pressure/ pump mod done too.

Not to hijack thread, but I was curious about a car with column shift. Is it possible to switch to the 400 and still maintain the column shift? Thanks.

Yes, the dash gear indicator will be off after OD. Other than that no issues.
