For fixing my loose steering column in the GN.

Price was right, he was at his shop early enough to give me directions on the cell phone since I got lost finding it.

And once you know the secret shortcut it's right off the exit on 95. :p

Price was right too!

It's a nice shop, I can't wait for a dyno. day. ;)

hello people; Salvage could you explain further on the loose steering column. I have something going on and I feel it in the steering wheel.
thanks

The tilt column part gets loose and it feels like the wheel is going to come off.

Screws are down a ways right about where the gear selector rotates in the column.

Loctite and tightening works wonders.

Got a new (used) key switch installed too from a column I had for parts.

My key switch was hard to turn and locked up at times, used one installed works great and had 2 spare keys made on the way home.

If the wheel is moving around a bit side to side and loose you may have a similar problem.

Not to step on salvages toes but If you try to fix it yourself you made need a few special tools that a GM tech would have. I had Big AL (v8killer) fix mine.. Nice & tight too.. tends to happen in higher milage cars.

If your close to OTTO go and see him.

I fixed mine on my 87 T years back. Not hard to do when you have the right tool! :D The wheel got so loose it was scary, lol.
