Car feels like its got no more steam, Upon acceleration power just seems stay steady like the car has hit its max. Sometimes when its at this steady pace with my foot in it the car will buck and hiccup. If i lower the alky(from like 7 to 4) it will stop the hiccup but then i get some knock and power seems to still plain off with no more acceleration. The chip doesnt have much timing in it due to the fact its a TT street chip and not an alky chip wich has more timing. So i would think id be safe with turning down the alky a little to get rid of the hiccup, wich it does but then i get knock. Mods are in the signature, and cat is gutted.

First, I would start with getting the proper chip...(Alky Chip)..... then go from there... once you know the tune is correct, then start looking into any mechanical problems, vaccumm lines, and electrical issues... sorry if i wasnt to much help, maybe some one else will jump in.. good luck.....:D

How much boost are you getting? Do you have a boost guage? Are all the fittings/hoses in front of the turbo tight? It sounds like the kind of symptom you would get if the up pipe popped loose or something.

Sounds like a rich condition. Power falls off and the car falls on its face, but still "goes". Get the correct chip and check all the basic stuff. Oh, and until you figure out whats wrong quit beating on the car!!!

Dennis I'd wait til I got the TT Alky chip to tune the car as stated above. While waiting on the chip it wouldnt hurt to recheck stuff like the maf sensor, plugs, tv cable adj...and go from there. Deren

Thanks guys im going to check everything tomorrow such as the inlet pipe, mass air, hose clamps, ect ect. Im running 20psi. Also iv talked to Eric a few times in the past and he explained to me that the main difference in the street chip vs alky chip is timing and fuel wich i can adjust to match an alky chip.

Im thinking its a rich condition as well because if i turn the alky off the hiccups under WOT go away, in the past with the alky turned on iv tried lowering fp and raising timing via the chip to compensate for the rich condition and i get knock?

This your problem. Period. An alky chip has fuel pulled out to compensate for the alky. You have a rich condition causing the car to fall on its face. Pull about 10-13% of fuel out of the TT chip just to see what happens. Bet you it will fix the problem. Then get you the right chip from Eric.

Sounds like when I first put on my Alkycontrol and set it at 6...I still had a TT 92 street chip...car would run and drive ok but in the upper rpms it felt like the car hit a wall and just quit pulling. My solution was to pull some fuel out, not very much....and then I was able to go a little quicker. Also monitor for knock when you do this.

Ok i checked for vac leaks, everything is good, checked fp, everything is good there as well, dropped boost down from 20 to 18, leaned the car out and played with timing, get less hesitation up top but its still there and i get knock. Tried lowering the alky wich helps but then again you guessed it, get knock. I also talked to Eric about the chip and he said i will be fine with this chip, again the only difference is fuel and timing which i can match by playing with the chip. Im dying to go to the track but its pointless to bring it like this when i only get three runs. :(

02's are in the 820-830 range, should i see knock with those numbers?

Don't think you should then again that does seem a little rich. Don't ask where but I heard someone talking about a such thing as knock if it's too rich but perhaps it's another tall tale?

When the knock comes on, does it start low like 1, 2, 4, 5 and escalate? or is it a random 5 out of nowhere?

Fuel pressure is good 63. Car has 76,xxx on it timing chain is original im assuming, previous owner never mentioned it. It seems this problem crept up when it started getting cold last year, i had no problems in the summer.
I also have to take a run to see if its false knock, never paid attention once i saw knock i just backed out. If its false then i can try leaning until the bucking goes away at WOT.

Funny Eric mentioned that also. Guess its worth a try. If i can figure out the damn boost controller i have (not rjc) its a hex ball and spring job with a bleeder plumbed inside the car(which i am removing) bleeder wont regulate boost just makes sucking noise when it opened, don't remember do i turn the hex in for more boost?
