Im three steps away from buying my first mucsle car. Im currently looking at a 1987 Buick Grand National with modifcations to the maxium.
I just want to know what are the chances of blowing the motor getting myself into some deep money pit? I am a daily driver but, I will keep my driving to a minimum if nessesary. Thanks.

Even a almost stock turbo V-6 is capable of letting go if you don't know what your doing. Highly modded motored car usally has a digital fuel injection setup (non-stock ECM) which makes it a necessity for the owner to know how to tune. Head gaskets can blow and dropping the crank on the ground is always an option due to the big D word (detonation). Find someone that can show you the basic tuning tips and precautions and you should be fine.
