Hey everyone, first off let me start by saying, yes I am a newbie, so sorry for all the dumb questions about GN's. I just bought my first one so I'll probably be asking a lot of questions in the future.
And now to the post, the Governor. What is it? Where is it located, and is it hard to get off?

Thanks all.

The governor is in the trans and controls the shift timing of the transmission. It has nothing to do with the fueling or ignition timing. You are thinking of a speed limiter. I've never ran my car with the stock chip so I don't know if it has a speed limiter built in but if there is one it is entirely in the chip programming and nothing else.

Ahh ok, do you know how hard it would be to remove the speed limiter or would that just be something I should google instructions for?

The speed limiter is in the computer chip. Most aftermarket chips have the limiter removed.

Oh ok then it's good that I'll be going with the aftermarket chip.
Thanks for all the help

For a chip consider Eric with TurboTweak, He will do a chip for you and he is very reasonable....when doing so you may want to consider your mods, most chips will require an adjustable fuel regualtor, Eric has pachages with Chips and larger injectors, you may want to consider those items while doing the chip to accomodate future mods..also do a search on spring cleaning and follow the directions, its a basic maintence for these cars that should be done every year, as well as installing a fuel pump hotwire kit to make sure your pump is running at proper voltage..
