At first I was expecting to see a new 2011 Buick of some sorts....

I don't believe I've ever seen a 1977 Regal with the colonnade roof...all the ones I've ever ran across were all Landau roofs. Bummer those A bodies were heavier than the newly downsized B bodies of that year. You pretty much need a 455 to make them scoot unless you put them on a diet.

The Century for that year was not as porky as you may think. They just look heavy.

Century = Colonnade roof, 3582 lbs (V6)
Regal = Landau roof, 3612 lbs (V6)

That's lighter than I thought then...was thinking I read somewhere a 1977 A body was closer to 4,000 lbs....I may have misread it though.

get one with any sort of options and a V8 under the hood, and they get over 4000 pounds really fast. a rusted out 76 Monte Carlo i had back in the early 90's weighed 4200 pounds with half a tank of gas without me in it- and most of the 1/4 panels and floors were gone and about 100 pounds of uselsss AC stuff was removed. a friend's solid 74 Malibu with a 350 and the AC stuff taken off weighed 4100 pounds on the same scale on the same night.
