What an unbelievable story, and a true testament that no matter what life throws your way, you keeping moving forward. This build just doesn't speak volumes of the community, it speaks about the character that has humbled everyone enough to help. Though things have not been great for you physically or mentally dealing with things coming at you in all directions, you stand as a role model in this community that your not willing to roll over. This is a very inspirational and motivational thread. Your story is truly humbling to read. I wish you all the best in all facets of your life. Keep up the good work.

Well I almost got everything that I wanted to do done today. I did get my molding up but I did not get the visors up. I believe I have the hardtop visor mounts because they do not want to agree with my car (t-top). I'll investigate this further in the morning. I did also get my super hi-tech mirror up and the wiring harness is run and is ready to be connected to power, ground, and outside temp sensor. I think I may plumb a temp sensor into my AC ducts to read the temp my AC is putting out instead.....still on the wire about that. Here is the mirror and molding in place.

Now that I see the shade difference on this piece I'm going to get some of that dye Coach used to make all the other pieces match. It will be matched to the rest of the molding. That mirror is outfitted to control three different HomeLink devices and has a compass, temp display, LED map lights, and auto dims.

I did rid the car of that 7 month old layer of dust build up. It is back to being BLACK.

other than figuring out the sunvisor problem I'm not sure which direction I'm going to take on working on the car tomorrow

Yes sir. My father was transported tonight to the hospital where his surgery will be done. We are all happy that he is getting close to getting relief from his pain. If everything goes as we hope and pray it will still be to soon for him to travel so he won't make the trip. He was looking forward to it as he was very impressed by the community and the cars the past two years.

I made a little progress tonight. One of my headlight bezels has been misbehaving and I think I got it to fit and stay in place tonight.
I also got my super high tech mirror wired in and working.

I'll tweak it some more but it is a night and day improvement.

Highway Star's has stepped up again and are providing me with the proper visor mounts and new door panel escutcheons and screw cap covers. The ones on there now show some age and the car is so nice that it kinda sticks out. Glenn has graciously offered to supply a new set. Thanks Glenn and Leslie.

Not much going on with the car tonight. Sorting things out with my Dad has kinda been monopolizing my mind. I'll try to get the O2 sensor for the XFI installed and wired into the car tonight. That is the hardest part of that job so it'll be nice if I can get that out of the way.

Installed the XFI oh too sensor and ran the wire to the passenger kick panel. I guess this is going to be the beginning of the XFI install. I do want to have it in the car so Cal can tune it in Bowling Green. So I'll be tying up a few loose ends and getting the XFI installed. If that happens and there is still time to get more done before the trip then I'll be on it.

Fast XFI is in. The XFI box is just hanging out of the glove box because I am having a hard time getting the lock cylinder out. I have to get that out so that I can mount the XFI in on a mounting "shelf" that will be in the glove box. I talked to Coach about the mounting and he has his under the passenger seat. I mocked it up there but I got nervous about the lack of clearance I'd have between the seat mechanism and the XFI box. I'll tussle with the lock cylinder a bit more. I've found a few ideas of how to get it out and I'll give them a try in the morning.

I'm having fits getting the lock cylinder out of the glove box. I've read many threads and watched videos of how to do this. I DON'T have a key for the glove box. Anyone know how to do this please let me know. Thanks.

I need to get the lock cylinder out so that I can put in the mount that will hold my XFI box.

This covers it pretty well.

I used the straight pick out of one of those cheap bright orange handled sets available at HF tools.

Worked like a charm.

Glad to see the progress Clay. I wish I could make my way to Bowling Green and see it in person. I doubt I'll ever make it out as this is always a very busy year for me and the family. That lock cylinder is a PITA. It took me a long time to get mine worked out and for some reason I thought that the key had to be in it. I had a hard time getting mine back together again too. Good luck!

Well I'm back from Bowling Green. It was a very nice time with awesome weather. Cal tuned the XFI and Boostjunkie put the fiberglass hood on the Phoenix. I'll have pics up in this thread of everything as I get it all finished up. There will be many more pics of progress as there is still lots to do.

Attempting to get a body man over to the house to properly adjust the hood. I can't seem to get it.
Actually I could get it but not without inventing a new book of cuss words and possibly scratching the paint. Its best I defer to the body man.
