By "living at home" do you mean with your parents? If so, all I can say is my parents would boot me in the ass if I bought a $90k+ car while still living under their roof. LOL!

My opinion on the car itself... It's bad ass. I have always loved the Vs.

My opinion on what you should do... Buy a damned nice GN and put $60k down on your own house.

When I gratuated University, I was 1 signature away from buying a Brand New Corvette, $92,000!
My father stepped in, slapped me silly and walked me over to the nearest Real Estate Office. I bought my first condo for $150,000 - about $60K More than the Vette. Now, 6 years later, I am in my 3rd home, have roughly $125K of Equity built into my home (the difference between what it is worth and what I owe), I have a Gorgeous wife, 2 beautiful kids, a 2005 Chevy Avalanche, a 2006 VW Passat Turbo and a 1987 Grand National. Please listen to me on this one Kiddo - The CTS V is an INCREDIBLE car, My Dad, at age 57, recently bought his first "really nice car", a CTS (couldn't afford the V)and you know what, he EARNED the car and as a result enjoys it so much more. Just because you can afford to buy a V, does not necessarily mean you have earned the V. If you want to chat about this one further, please give me a call and I will explain. This next step in your life can either propel you to a life of being debt free and retired by age 50 or a life long battle with being a penny short and a day late.

Good thinking. I would recommend to save up and pay cash for your toys.

if you haven't been on a job for at least 6 months I wouldn't even think about car payments.

1. Get a good paying job first.
2. Buy a nice house in a good neighborhood- with a garage!
3. make sure you have a reliable daily driver
4. After you have done all of the above- then you can buy a TR and lots of tools:cool:

Don't learn the hard way.;)

cash cars

if you buy a cash car which i'm sure you probably have some laying around you won't have to fret about the monthly payments and no one can repo a car that was paid in full and titled in your name. hope this helps and yes a daily driver is helpful as you can always expect to turn a wrench on your TB monthly atleast even for minor things.

Look at it this way in 5 years that Caddy will be worth 40-50k if that. Big time depreciating asset. Plus everyone laughs at the guy with a nice car that still lives with mom and pop. Don't be that guy. Put your money in a house now is a great time to buy. In 5 years that house will be worth so much more than a used luxury car. Trust us......... buy a house.......... let us save you from yourself lol.

Do you plan on living with your parents for the next 5 years of car payments?

Also, I am with you when you said "im jus worried when i get older wit a home and other bills... maybe kids i wont be able to afford MY toys... and thought why not buy my toys now befor i have a house"

That has been my point of view for the last 10 years, now I have 5 cars and no house, HAHAHA ... BUT they are all running great, and I will have them to play with until the day I die ( all paid off ) ... NOW its time for the house in my eyes. Even on a 30 year loan I will only be 58 when its paid off (and with NO car payments for 30 years it will be paid off sooner ).

Just play it right, you have a LOT of options ---

I just want to throw in my $0.02; I am your age and I opted for buying the house. Not too long ago, a GN found its way into my garage and now I have my ducks in a row. My daily driver isn't quite as flashy as a V, but I've got my soon-to-be low 11 toy that gives me all the 'young guy fun' I need. Move to Southeastern Michigan and buy a 4 bedroom mansion for $30,000.

good opinions

plus think of this, having to invite a chick to your parents house to get some trim. having one of them walk in, i'm sure alot of us have had someone walk in on us in the middle of something. talk about a mood killer, and what's that movie with mathew mac where he lives with his parents and his dad is terry bradshaw and mom is that older lady from fried green tomato's? i did the same thing bought a 25K truck when i was 18 and had a job but no gas because insurance and all the other crap i wanted to buy. then 3.5 yrs into the loan had to fight for workers comp due to an on the job injury and had to return it because i couldn't afford it and fought workers comp for almost a yr before it kicked in. As life went on i had a few kids and divorced, now that i'm older wiser and have alot of toys to play with it was worth the wait. besides the mid set of most teens these days with a car of this caliber may spell tickets and all kinds of unwanted attention. i live in a decent neighborhood but when i drive around i always see kids looking at my car and sometimes it's unwanted attention.
