Wow, wow, wow! Great accomplishment! Congratulations.

And 156 mph is an 8.69 on average so when the traction improves ...

Also,Props to Zimmerman racing engines in Arizona. That 109 took some TSO abuse today
They drove it back on the trailer and took it home running!

Congrats Dick and Julie. It was great watching the 154 MPH last night.

Ya gotta give Julie big props also,She puts up with the old Bastad!!!
They are 2 or the most wonderful people and their hospitality is second to none.
Im still drooling over the deep fried turkey from Thanksgiving.

Hats off to the team.. They got it done. Couldnt be happier for Dick.. he has stuck with this Buick thing all year long chasing after issues.. and it proves perserverence pays off.

150+MPH in the 1/4 on a 109 is what legends are made off...

:D

WOW that is just plain sick!!!!

Big Congrats to Dick and the rest of the Zimmerman/AZGN Racing crew!!! Knew it was only a matter of time before somebody got serious with the stock block, took out a little weight, and threw on the 42/76...

Somebody needs to give a call to Rick Jensen of GMHTP magazine about getting this car featured in the magazine considering this is one helluva an accomplishment with a 109..

Also, I know I will get some flak for asking, but did anybody happen to get video of this pass?? I sure hope so:eek:

I agree! that car should be in the magazine! I would love to see it and it deserves to be.

Julie has to be super happy. Shes all class and takes racing seriously. Not many of those women around.. ;)

BTW some things have to be mentioned:

Only one day before Cal and James installed a XFI unit on Dicks car. Cal also installed a AMS 1000 boost controller. The fact that they did all of this work and hit the tune so close was amazing! They had I believe 2 or 3 runs invested all in the 154+ MPH.

Via phone Cal told me the car could have ran much quicker, but basically called it a day when the track wouldnt cooperate in the 60 ft area. The car will run 8.70s easy..

Not to be a doom and gloomer, but get a good video of that soon.

Dick said he had the video,Not sure whos gonna get it to the net for him

I want to see the video to see what the car is doing. After talking with Cal today I think I may know what's up with the 60'. You learn a few things trying to put down 1500hp on radials:wink:

8 second timeslip

Here is a scan of Dicks timeslip, signed by the track owner, track manager, and Mike Zimmerman. One bad ass pass. Congrats to the Kerenys on a huge accomplishment.

That is absolutely beautiful. It needs a very special framing.

What is the 620 noting at the bottom? Physical track altitude?

Can any other manufacturers make that claim.

Can any of the imports or any other domestic brands claim a similar record? I just want to get into the 10s and these guys are flirting with mid 8s? Nice work.
