well the verdict is in on my wifes race car...
most of you know that she ran IDRC and had 2 runs before towing it back home

i know i know its been a long time since IDRC ...but ive finally had time to work on her car....

cylinder 1 and 5 connecting rods shattered into a zillion pieces...
im guessing the timing chain busted because of this....
theres a whole in the oil pan as well as the pickup tube for the oil pump...
block is unsalvageable the bottom walls also shattered on cylinder 1 and 5
a few bent pushrods ...
and a few bent valves...

Sorry to hear what happen to your wife's car....That's has been a long time and I thougt you blew a head gasket. You running NOS?

Sorry to hear of your misfortune - hope you can get her back racing again soon.

On the bright side, you now have some really cool broken parts to display on your garage wall. :D

Danny...

What happen to the HFPC site? I usually check there because of the videos they provide after an event.

turbov6- no nos...all charger :D we did however blow a headgasket the weekend before IDRC
as for the website....we were experiencing problems with the server....them saying we were using too much space and jacking us around...our moderator got fed up with them so i guess we are waiting it out and looking for a new server

i had thought that i didnt build the motor correctly....guess this wasnt the case...i guess now we can go with a dart block and some strong internals....should i build it? ahhh why not :D ill give it another shot and save some money over all the labor involved....just as soon as my snap on bill goes back down to zero

71RSZ28 -itll be a while again especially with my little one starting school

Danny,

Good excuse to get one of those aftermarket blocks now, right? Dart Racing I believe. :D

Either that or the 5.4 Lightning Motor that we talked about. (Bought this months issue of FF & MM). :D

No! No! Pull that 5.0 out and put in a 3.8l Buick Turbo V6.

damn...looks like you gonna be busy Dan. :D As for the site hosting...tell your moderator to check out Interland.com. My coworker bought his domain from them and they have some pretty good plans. he pays only $7/mo for his domain with 500mb webspace and 30G bandwidth/transfer rate...or somthing like that. for a 2 year contract. they have a plan that allows more space and unlimited transfer rate that cost a little bit more...blah blah blah. My friends and I are planning on countering HS3 and speedhawaii with the same deal. we're still deciding on a name. if your moderator would like to know more on their site...he can e-mail my coworker at dean@kapuracing.com.

how about a twin turbo sbc :D sure a 3.8T would be nice to install....they infact do make a kmember for chevy transplants into mustangs :D would someone lend me their entire drivetrain though?

ill let my moderator know :) will yah have "women" on your new website? no jailbaits right :) maybe we can interview the women of femme nu or exotics  i bet youll get tons of hits :D

Sorry to hear about your motor Dan. I'm in the process also, but the block is salvagable. That's why we build them, to race.:D

Dan, Sorry to hear about the wifes car, drop in a 3.8 buick :D I also got to see your red notchback at the fathers day thing. Nice swap, looks factory. I'm still looking for a notchback unless Geoff will sell me his.:D

thanks john,
btw...is your turbo buick the one next to the sun press factory in kaneohe? when ever i have to work on a friends car in that area i see a nice black GN outside....looks like the plates turned in...perhaps the owner is modding it...

took the rest of the timing chain area off because i forgot the dampener puller at work yesterday....might also need a new cam...one of the lobes is slightly nicked....

The car by the sunpress is one of many owned by Geoff. I think hes gonna drop an intercooled motor into it.

We spend quite a bit of time there wrenching on Geoff's car(s) and the Camaro. Stop by if you see us working - just look for the Buicks in the driveway
