Anybody have one of these 5 disc Vigilante's?? Also do these converter's make the car funner to drive on the streets?? Im looking to possibly get one for my car with my TE-44 Turbo.I probably would go with the 3000 converter though.

Mine spools my 6776dbb real well. At idle the converter rattles tho. I've heard it's just a characteristic of it. Either way tho it's annoying and makes the car sound like a pile

The 6776 is a much bigger Turbo then my TE-44.I wonder if a 3000 5 Disc will be fun to drive on the street or a nuisance.I don't mind a little rattling. My car will be 99.9% driven on the street and I heard these 5 Disc Vigilante's make the car fun to drive on the streets as well as the track. The only bad thing that can happen is that i fry the tires but i doubt that will happen if I warm them up.There's alot of guy's with 3200 converter's with the TE-44.I heard the sweet spot for the TE-44 is a good 3000 Stall converter.I do have the option of putting back my 3.42 gear's if it is to wild.

i have a PTS Billet 9X11 2800-3000 flash stall for sale, it has only about 3K miles if that. its a lock up unit if your interested.

Thanks for inquiring about your converter.I will keep it in mind.I just want to make sure I get a converter and don't wind up wanting another one.I did this with Turbo's and the smallest, the TE-44 feels like the fastest even more then some of the bigger Turbo's i bought.Im sure that converter would wake up my car but Im going to research this because its going to be 1 and done.

I am installing one this week with the new trans from ck performance. I look forward to trying this combo out. My car is drivin 100% on the street all the time everyday rain or shine the only time its parked is if its hailing so i will make sure i let you know what mine sounds like but i herd they sometimes stall when put in gear and they rattle but are one of the best..

Cool let me know. I just got the price of a new 5 disc Vig.It is $997 not including tax.

Look on the main page here the site is in the vendors index. Some say they have fixed the rattle on the new ones. Mine does not rattle but it is still new. Also some recommend the pump tube kit be installed in the trans also. Some dont. I put mine in. If im not mistaken it evacuates the fluid from the convertor on lockup as I recall. Good luck and use the search button their is lots of info on this.

Thanks but when I get it I won't be the one putting it in.

I found the site.thanks I heard that these 5 Disc Vigilante converter's make the car real fun to drive on the street and track. Its going to be mostly all street with my car.

the 5 disc is a very nice converter. however imop you dont need the 5 disc if your running 100% street. the single disk converter will be more then enough for your application. that will save you $$$$

I thought the 5 Disc makes the car feel faster then the single disc. You think a 3200 single disc Vig would be too much for the tire's??

i wouldn't go bigger the a single disc 3,000. as far as the 5 disc making the car feel faster im not sure where you got that from. the 5 disc will help in the survival of the converter when being locked up at WOT. however i have run a single disc hard at the track and it has taken alot of WOT locks with no issue

They told me that they have 2800 or 3200 stall converter's.They go in 400 increments. Now I don't know if they make a 3000 single disc any more?? I gotta call back tommorow but its either a 2800 or 3000 single disc.Thats the converter I always intended to replace my D5 with.

the 2800 will be fine and spool well. you will be very happy.

Yeah I might get close to instant Boost with the Vig.I figure its about a 2200 D5 now so thats a big difference going up 600 to a 2800 especially with the 9.5 Vig. coming down thge line.
