Looking to take a lil road trip with the girl friend. Did some research found the Chattanooga & Knoxville area has alot of things to do. And its about 4 hours closer then Nashville. Looking for some other idea's and recommendation's. TIA

Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg if your looking to do stuff with your girl friend.... TONS of stuff to do.

If you decide to go to nashburg PM me. Lived in the area for 10 years and there's a ton of places you might like.;) If you want to stay in the east side of the state go through the Cherokee National Forrest. It's one of the few places that I still love to remember and wish it was closer to me.:(

I'm going to Nashville tomorrow. Yay! I'm from there. In Chattanooga, go North to the Ocoee river and take a rafting tour. That is some fun stuff. It is hot enough now that getting splashed with water will feel really good. It's a bouncing good time. http://www.ocoeerafting.com/ There is more than one rafting company, this is just an example.

hello; I'm no Tenn. expert but I recently went to Memphis. Besides Elvis there's a few nice placed to eat, Beale st. if you like music and The Blues, Gibson factory. I didn't go but there's a minor league basball team there that not expensive to go to. I don't know if I said this stuff on this site but there are street people there also. Not that there a problem as you can just say no to them and they'll leave you alone. Not like some places I've been. Tenn. is a long state and I've just been to Memphis.
have fun

Lookout Mountain & Ruby Falls in Chat. Here are a few things within a 3 hr drive from there: Tail of the Dragon and Cherahola Skyway, 3 train rides (Blue Mt, GA; Bryson City and Andrews, NC), Klingman's Dome (always 20° there!), the Biltmore in Ashville, NC (if you're bucks up $$$), Chimney Rock in NC...

hello; I saw Tail of the Dragon in a post as a co-worker just left yesterday to ch. it out. He's bringing his wife and HD. I'll be talking to him when he gets back. From what I've seen on the net it's one twisty mother.

In Chattanooga go to the TN state aquarium
exactly what I was looking at. they had a nice imax 3D theater, also have a river boat thats like 2 million dollars that does 50 mph for some of the trip an takes you to tenn ( grand Canyon) along the river. There is also a Underwater waterfall tour. Looks really cool.Just looking for other options and opinions. But I think Im settled in on Chattanooga I think.. But not postive

We were in pigeon forge last summer and my two favorite things were. www.raftinginthesmokies.com but I wish we would have done the upper raft trip instead of the lower. Also hiked up to midnight hole. Great local swim hole, beautiful blue water but it is a cold mountain stream.

The Ocoee river is close to Chatanooga. Lots of white water rafting and kayaking all around the area. That's a great way to spend a hot summer day.
