I really prefer American companies. No matter where its made, the bulk of the money usually goes back to the home country....
But, American car makers and especially GM continually shoot themselves in the foot.
I get into debates weekly with friends that foriegn trucks are going to outsell domestics in a few years. It will NEVER happen - at least in our lifetimes.
Why do I know this? I have several friends in the trades - they HAVE to drive domestic trucks - and the companies have to buy them. These poor guys can't even rive their wife's Pathfinder or RAV4 to work if their truck is broke down. It is an understood rule that if a foreign car or truck shows up on a union jobsite - its gets keyed, tires slashed, etc.
Whether its right or wrong, at least in the Chicago area, F150s, followed by Chevy and Dodge are the mainstays for tradesman, both business and personal. Unless you want your vehicle trashed....
