i hit recal on the scanmaster all reading were normal no timing retard normal o2 mil what could be wrong
im thinking my gauge is fried.
the only thing iv done different since 2 days ago was fixed the o2 wire because it had broken and i was getting 0 mil volts and 0 cc
here are my idel readings

cars never knocked since last tune session wide open 19 psi no hesitation even when knock gauge gos red theres no timing retard
hope this helps im stumped
only issue my car currently has other then random knock light is my wate pump pulley has a wiggle i sens its in need of new water pump ei the shaft is warped

Since you mentioned the quickest throttle chop ever... I would guess it was false knock from the drivetrain going from fully loaded in one direction to fully loaded in the other direction rapidly. Only way to really know would be to repeat the test... That being said, don't do rapid throttle chops. It's not a good thing.

As far as the waterpump, change that thing yesterday! If the bearings are shot you're asking for trouble putting off a $15 fix (or $24 with a lifetime warrenty). If that snout comes loose and it pops your hood or holes the intercooler, that would be bad.

100 agreed on the water pump when i said throttle chop i ment i mashed trottle and let off faster then i ever had because of red light car actualy had time to full spool but i agree i think its either false or bad gauge or just so happend that i hit a bump at same point in time il try again tomorow if i can repeat it il check gauge wiring and call casper se if they have a warrenty

False knock caused by something with the car wouldn't be a gauge warranty problem. Somewhere around is a list of common causes of false knock. Might want to go down the list and see which one's would happen during a throttle chop and double check your car to rule them out.

i lenning more towards gauge because when my knock gauge is in the red my scan master says 0 timming knock and perfect numbers all across the board and car dos not fall on its face

Sounds like he jumped off of throttle because knock sensor went off? If no knock on scanmaster maybe the knock gauge is broken, does the knock gauge hook to the stock knock sensor?

Scan master won't save it if you weren't at wot for more than three seconds

the throttle chop was because of a red light.... then the display went off. The scanmaster probably stopped recording during the chop. I don't think it records long after shutting off.

I remember reading the other night about the minimum time required for sanmaster to record. Maybe that was why scanmaster showed nothing on recall to 87 and earl's point.
When I had knock while sorting out the car I hit recall and noticed nothing, I bet same reason, I jumped out of it as soon as I saw knock.
The tough part is he'd have to run knock for a few seconds to see if that was the deal.

The Casper's gauge and the Scanmaster do NOT read the same thing.

the way i have my gauges set up i can se all of them at the same time will i watched my knock gauges go light for light up to the red light my scan master never moved i think my gauge is cooked or wirring is some how messed up
thats why im comfused cuz yesterday and every day before that iv mashed that car around with 0 knock even after oil change were i started running 5 w 30

The Casper's gauge seems to pick up "noise" like bumps or exhaust rattles and such. I've had the same thing a few times where the Casper's gauge shows some knock but the Scanmaster shows nothing. If you hit a large bump look at the Casper's, I bet it shows a few lights. I think the way the Casper's reads it picks up a lot more than the Scanmaster.

makes sense thats what i asumed because a knock sensor is basicaly a microphone in lamens terms (wheatstone bridge) so my slight exhaust banding in the back will probbly cause the lights go crazy
the car never hesitated or anything so im asuming as long as scanmaster dont show same as knock gauge im good to go

Keep in mind the scanmaster doesn't show how much knock you have... it shows how much the ECM retarded the ignition to compensate for perceived knock.

that be why i have both but unless i see a light and timing retard im not really worried i just wanted to know if people had the same issue before

I want one of them too!!! :)

hahaha i never realised that until now.seems that my issue is just and extremely sensative gauge because this morning i put it in drive and got one green light

I'm sorry, but I have ask what's a "throttle chop"? I'm not 100% up to date with my speed terminology or meanings.
