John, if you're reading this do you mind giving us some more details on the Riv (single or twin turbo Stage II engine, what tranny, etc.).......

Steve,

You probably mean John S. but I will tell you what I know.
Dan from DLS Engine Development is doing the motor for this.
From what I know it will be a top shelf v-6. 1500hp range or maybe more. Should gun for the fastest turbo buick in the land!

Sounds good!!!! As always thanks for sharing bro:)

According to the good ol' HP calculator (yes it's back):D http://home.neo.rr.com/jturrin/calchp1.htm if John's Riv weighs 2100lbs and is making 1500hp it should run 6.51 @209mph:eek: I wonder how accurate this HP calculator is?? It probably figures with the best conditions (traction being a main one which determines ET) like the 60', air, elevation, etc....

Oh well it's fun to play with and kind of gives you an idea:) :D

Nice find!

The motor is great, I am not sure if the chassis is the way I would go!!! Looks like a Hot Wheel Toy that you got in a combination pack with a cool car.

The motor does look great, but as you said I'm not much for the chassis either (or the paint)..... Do you know if that is a SBC or a BBC? Oh well either way I'm sure it's capable of 2000+hp!

Steve,

Since the heads are Asymmetrical and because of how narrow the valve covers are I can tell you it is a small block.

Yes, Dan is doing the motor. The order was placed 2.5 years ago and is still not done. Time to turn up the heat now that Dan is at DLS. According to Harry @ PTE, it will be a single BFT. Trans is a liberty 5 speed with an AFT 3X clutch.

As far as estimates, I leave that to you fellows. I plan to put this together and go out and have some fun. This will probably be my last go around with drag racing, so I want to get my final rush.

Once the project is complete, all of the details will be made available. As it progresses, updates will be posted. This is a fun project, one that I am excited about and look forward to sharing with you guys (and gals). I thinks that is the same reason we started the BPG.

Don't forget about getting your turbo articles together for the 'BUILDSHEET". There might be one or two on the Riv. :)

Steve
