Ive used them a few time,Had decent luck,But on my own car, the first one i had, the pin kept jamming up in the bore, creating a second gear problem,But polishing and cleaning the bore and pin fixed it.

It's the same as a

112 / 200 servo except with lip seals, instead of teflon rings.

Yeah that is the game, create the largest piston apply area and still fit the cover in the servo case boss with some rigidity on the cover walls. Assuming a constant apply pressure, the larger the apply area equals more clamping force for the band. Another thread has pics of a modified OE servo, "case stretcher"? that has a servo cover that looks similar. I asked for details regarding this servo a while back, but I haven't seen any posted. While it would be easy enough to machine an OE servo cover to allow more apply area, but what piston would be used, and where do you get the lip seals for this modified piston? This is where the aftermarket comes in, with fully machined pistons and covers and custom lip seals. Anyhow it would be interesting to inspect one of those servos...

ive used one before, but have since gone to a 200 3 speed servo. I was using it in line with an art carr shift kit and a really high pressure pump and broke a couple of bands so ive toned it down a bit and everything has been fine. I think it would be a pretty good servo for most though. When i go back home ill see if i can find out some specs on it.

The bands broke at the anchor I assume? Was the anchor heat treated or was it a stock band?

one broke at the anchor and the other broke where the pin applies (busted through band). These were alto bands, but it was right when they first came out and no they were not heat treated yet. Once they started heat treating them i never had another problem.
