That's good to know because that's the size I want to go with when I bore mine.

Well im off for two weeks, but have permission to go and use the shop at work this friday to machine my tb and maybe a few other goodies. Thanks for all the info everyone.

A few things:
JB Fill the hole before you start. Center the tb and square the turbo side face. Use no more than a 8 deg taper on the inlet side of the tb, and do not machine into the butterfly seal area. Use very light clamping pressure to prevent warpage, or butterfly area may warp. If running a ta33, no need to go larger than 60mm. Go slow!

My question on this modification is does one have to make his own base gasket?

es, which is why I kept it at 61mm, and added the o-ring. There is one area of the flange that gets real narrow for sealing.
a o ring ,nice i didnt think about that, mine is very thin i justed used cheese wiz and put it on.

There is a picture in one of the stickies.

Another option is to machine a small lead and narrow lead into the flange surface area, with a 30-45 angle. That way, not only will it self center, but provide a metal to metal seal, and prevent any silicone squish into the turbo inlet.

I'll will do the o-ring mod when I run my 33, but also getting my mods ready on my other engine for the 64 and will have to resort to cheese wiz. I'll get her going with the stock turbo first and move up from there to see what every mod will do to my car. After I get all the data from the 3.8's ill move on to my 4.1 and do it all over again. You gotta love it!

Well the throttle body isn't done yet. I've been taking it slow but man is that thing difficult to square off on the lathe.

I removed the 3 jaw chuck and installed a 4 jaw so its a more precise cut.
