What parts do I need to freshin up the Timing chain to a roller setup? Im leaving the cam stock for now so will I need a chain tensioner or a chain dampner? on gbody.com they look like the same part? Also does it matter what type of cam button I use? Any info you guys can provide to make my journey easier on this project, would be helpful.
Thanks

If you use a double roller timing chain you will not be reusing the damper. You can get a roller cam button that is still spring loaded so its easier to setup. Melling part number is CB100 if I remember correctly and vendors like Fullthrottlespeed and Weber carry them. Lastly, if you don't have the cam sensor tool from Caspers you will be doing yourself a favor by getting one of those before tackling the timing chain swap.

One last thing to consider, if you are mechanically inclined, would be to freshen up your cover and oiling system doing the oiling mods by Earl Brown, but this is certainly optional.

Lol, i was just about to order one of earl`s setups off ebay i just don't understand about the diff settings .....and i did order a used cam tool from casper a week ago guess im on the right path .....

I don't list covers on Ebay. :) All the fees would put me into the red.

The trick with the dampner is to feel the outside of the timing chain. If it's smooth like a hi-vo chain, run a dampner. If it's 'chunky' with dogbone links, you can't run a dampner as it'll get beat to pieces (literally).
