Tuning the car and thought I would put a timing light on it to check the base timing. Gen ll translator with the extender g chip base timing should be 15 degrees the light shows 25 does that mean when I set the timing to 20 degrees at WOT am I really at 30?

The G chip is 15* base at WOT, not idle. You have to put the ECM into diagnostic mode (jump top 2 right pins at ALDL) to force 15* at all times, for checking timing.

the extender extreme G chips are designed with 25 degrees of timing at idle, it makes them easy to check your 'base timing'.

it sounds like things are ok for you.

Thanks both Eric and Bob.
I did put it diagnostic mode and did have 15 degrees (before I saw bobs post).
