Tools for injector Removal

I'm specifically wondering exaclty what size and if it has a special name. I'm reffering to the wrench that you need to remove the Fuel rail off the Fuel line. both sizes. And something that wont ruin the finish or dig into the metal of the Rail side. I tried this once before and realized mine was stuck on the line pretty good. So I didn't really try and "wrench" it.

I did not know there is a special wrench to remove the injectors? Just spray some WD40 on the injectors and let it sit a day or so and it should pop right our with the rail.

anyways .. there isnt a special tool to take the fuel line off the fuel rail ... just a wrench ... i never even touch the rail side .. it doesnt move just wrench on the fuel line fitting and it should come out

Thanks, I swear there is some aluminum wrench that wont gall? the fitting. Anyways I'll give it another shot its off the road now so I dont have o put it all back together if I get stumped again.

You may be talking about "line wrenches", which slip over the tube and onto the fitting, enclosing 4 sides, and parts of the 5th and 6th. Or, there are open end, aluminum, "AN wrenches" that protect aluminum fittings (e.g. Aeroquip, Earl's, Russell) from getting scratched or rounded off, especially if they are anodized.

I have found that a 5/8" open end wrench, carefully used, is the best bet to remove the fuel lines from the passenger's side of the fuel rail and the driver's side of the fuel rail (bottom of the fuel pressure regulator).

How about a 5/8 flare nut wrench. It is a 6 sided box with a slot cut in it to go over the fuel line. You can get one at any tool supplier or Sears for about $6 - $8. If you strip the nut with one of these its stuck good.

yeah, "flare nut" is the usual name for a wrench that grips several sides of the nut.

either 5/8" or 16mm work equally well on the fuel supply & fuel return nuts.

a 12 point flare wrench is lots easier than a 6 point, there isn't much room to turn the nut.

A 12pt crows foot flare wrench is probably easiest of all.

I made a pickle fork type deal and a little piece of oak and removed the rail the removed each injector with the pry tool I made.I also spryed som"jb blaster"at the base of the injectors to help out a little,mine were very tight
