...Best it ran was 11.30 at 120mph in Bristol 98'
Sounds/looks like it was a nice car. Sorry about the mishap:frown: Everything for a reason thought right? Im sure it will come back better than ever once you get around to it........... now how about sharing the combo:D Im going to go out on a limb and guess that, if it was hotair, it was similar to Leeo's setup?

P.S. also, maybe I missed something but, exactly why was the FBI taking photos? Plus how did you wind up with them? Maybe Maytag was mistaken for a UFO and then they realized they were mistaken:confused:  :)

Glad to see you are still around... Your car was legendary around Birmingham.. You were the only one in town with a 85 that was actually FAST.... Larry (Fairfield Car Clinic) and I got my SVO to run in the 7.80 1/8 at Lassiter. He told me that you had a Silver SVO that you and Reid (Turbo Specialties) were running and you also had a T-Type... I put so much time into the SVO that by the time I got around to the T-Type I was back in school. The SVO also my daily driver to back and forth to Tuscaloosa...

I noticed in the photos Big Daddy uploaded that you had a SPEARCO intercooler. That is one BIG intercooler. I bought the 84-85 Spearco kit for my car... Ironically, I ended up put the Spearco on the SVO and with 22lbs of boost ran 7.80's at Lassiter.... I had my SVO turbo stuffed with a 87 GN turbo...(MJM turbo - Buhl, Ala) This was before I knew Reid could do one...
I did have a 50hp NOS that I never got to use at the track... I did spray twice on the street (Lakeshore and at Budweiser).....

I had chance to buy a blue T-Type that could be Leeo twin. I think you might had ALOT of influence on...Yahoo! Photos - cwmccray_jr's Photos - Hot Air Cooled. The guy was to sell me the car... He ended up going to jail. His cousin's tried to crank the car and could not get it cranked... They sprayed enought ether to kill a horse... Finally figure out the fuel pump fuse was blown... turn the switch... BOOMMMM!!!!!... Burned it to the ground......

Yea, I did have alot to do with the build on that car. Actually put a set of Lee's headers on it. Car ran real well...I knew it wouldn't last though. I can't remember the guys name for the life of me. That's been years ago...Pretty nice looking car, he had it painted after we completed the engine work.

Maytag was a prod block, 62-1 turbo, mildly ported heads, hogged hot air intake, set of Hooker headers, and a Spearco core with custom piping...Ran 21lbs on that car and it pulled like a freight train once it came on boost. I have never had another 109 pull like that car did from 15lbs and up. I did not degree the camshaft in that engine when I built it. I often wondered if it was a few degrees retarded hence the reason it pulled so hard up top. Took a country mile to build boost, but once it came in, hang on. Many, many good memories in that car

Chuck, 7.80's with a four banger is honkin!! You should be proud of that..I never got the chance to run mine at the track...The GN guts in the stock housing was the ticket with those...Easily bust the tires loose once it came on boost.

I ended up putting the SVO back stock (except for the 50hp NOS) with the oem intercooler and the SVO stock turbo. My Dad needed a car to drive while he rebuilt his truck. I put the GN turbo on a friend's Turbocoupe and the PE computer... He had a front mounted NPR. Stinger 3 inch exhaust to the bumper. I let him BORROW my turbo... Never got it back.. He now has Cummins turbo on the car.. it is HUGE... I am now back to the T-Type... I got a TRICK up my sleeves... I am probably going to piss of SVOPaul and his crew in Odenville, but it is my car and I am going to put a 87 engine in the SVO... I was going to sell the SVO.. It was my FIRST turbo car and I was first car that I HAD to have... Hope you get "Maytag" back to its ole GLORY  I got a feeling you will get her in the 10's... If BigDaddy and Leeo got anything to do with it... She goin set sumbody's AZZ on fire... MAGIC CITY Style:cool:

I can remember your car at the "Nationals" kicking tail and taking names... Larry and Jim from ALLTRAC kept telling me about your car... I finally go to see it in action..... I need to look around in my OLD VHS tapes... I might... MIGHT still have your car in action... on tape... If I do not have it... Larry might still have it... Back in the day you and Reid had some very interesting things going on in Shelby County...

I got a drive it before I was to buy the car... All I can say is HOLY SH1T!!! on only 18lbs... Larry replaced the 109 block (Had hole the size of a softball) with a 4.1. Forged 8 to 1 pistons, otherwise everything that you put in the car.... CAN YOU SAY CUBIC INCHES . Charlie's Transmission in Hueytown had to freshen up the tranny.. (It was mushy when we go it).. We got a GER 9inch LU convertor in and that WOKE it up even more.. The guy came to pick it up and Larry took him around the BLOCK:eek:  He had a WET SPOT in the passenger seat.. YOU THINK HE WAS SCARED:eek:  ??? A month later he called me and ask what I would give him for the car... By the time we went to get the car.. He was locked up... No one knew where the title was and his CRACK HEAD cousin had the keys.... A month later BOOMMMM:mad:
