I've read that by locking the torque converter I would see performance gains. Has anyone tried it and seen performance gains? If so, how much? Should the torque converter be engaged in second gear? Does locking the torque converter damage the torque or tranny?

.2/2mph is pretty much guaranteed. Eventually you will smoke the TCC clutch (or crack the converter input shaft) and it is harder on your trans (but then so is racing in general).

You've run 11.7's and you've NEVER tried it? :)

That's something you do when you are running 13.1's and want to run 12's.

Running 1.52 60 ft's you'll break a stock axle long before the Trans breaks.

Thanks for the info.
When would you suggest I lock the convertor, in 3rd or in 2nd gear? I would think I would cause the least damage to the torque in 3rd gear, but I also think I would get the best performance gain by locking it in 2nd. What is your opinion?
