Greeting All!!!

Has anyone ever use or think of using. A Torrington bearing setup for the trust bearing? The one thing I can think of is that the bearing would have to be a two piece design (If there is such a thing).

I’m just throwing the idea out.

I don't think there is such a thing as a 2 peice torrington, besides the reason engines use babbit style film bearings is because of thier debris tollerance, same thing in aircraft engines. A roller style (ball or needle) bearing will eat itself to death if it gets scared by debris, a babbit style will absorb debris and keep the engine running long enough for you to make it home in an aircraft or in your car keep you from having to rebuild the engine every 20k miles.
Just some opinions from the AFRL bearings geeks on why engines use babbits and turbos can get away with more efficient balls.

I think SE turbo

I beleive SE Turbo sells what you are looking for. I think they are made by speedpro. Do know for sure, but Paul at SE will. Give him a call.
