I just received my new set. They look pretty good...but...before I chance nicking them up while installing them, or before I paint them....

Anyone ever used these pieces fro TR/

How was the fit?

I ordered a set and thought they were a little subpar so I returned them and bought original GM's for only about 20 bucks more and they fit perfect no modifications. I have heard people having to drill and modify holes on the aftermarket ones.

Test fit them before taking the time and money to paint them.

Got heard of it but never use it. I got tried the bumper filler from partstrain.com for my '87. It was actually a high quality, direct fit OE replacement for bumper filler, behind my bumper and below tail lamps.

You should ALWAYS test fit body parts before painting them. The manufacturer of these is using new molds so fit should be fine. They will stand behind them 100%

I have my GN back from Lou Czarnota's magical shop now...can't stop grinning.

I'll be installing my bumper fillers over the next couple days. Do I have to remove anything to install these or do they just slide right into place once the old ones are out of the way?

Hey Tim, are these the fronts or rears? If it is the fronts, it will be easier if you take the bumper off. Never tried the rears, though. I heard you might have to do the same.

They are fronts.
I didn't remove the bumper but I did need to loosen the bumper to create enough room to slide them in.

I only did the passneger side. The fit...not perfect but not terrible either. If I wasn't such a picky jerk, I'd probably be happy with them, but....sadly....I'm a picky jerk. So I'll be ordering a new OE set from GM instead, and will return these pieces. I also think I prefer the flexibility of the GM parts over the ABS and Fiberglass replacements I've seen.

Sorry, Mark.
Maybe I just have a bad one.

But I do love my TR Customes Big Mouth cold air kit and MAF pipe!!!
:-)

Meanie, R U returning them to Mark or Reselling? Did you paint them black? I might be interested in them

Unpainted.
Yes, I plan on returning them to Mark. He and I are communicating off line.

...but...if you're willing to buy them for 100% of what I paid plus shipping...PM me and you'll solve the whole thing.

I got my set from G-Body parts and they fit Perfect! and the black Gel coat was so nice all I ever done to them was wax them and that was it! They matched so good that Popular Hot Rodding magazine didn't notice when they shot my car!!

Hey Mark of TR Customs.
Thanks for the great customer service and support.

All,
Just as an FYI, Mark has issued me a full refund. This is the mark of a great supporting vendor and I'll defintiely be going back to TR Customs for future purchases with the assurance and confidence that they stand behind their product.

Like I said in my previous post, the fillers look OK and overall are nice peices. The one I installed just is not perfect enough for my taste and I'm a picky guy.
Maybe I got one that shrank a little more off the mold than normal...it happens...

Don't let my experience with this one part deter you from at least checking them out for yourself.

Thanks!
Tim
