after getting the trannie back from a rebuilt, it is shifting way early like around 4,200rpm at WOT to second gear bogging the car really bad i thought this cars were suppouse to shift at 5,200rpm from 1st to second am i right? , i've tried adjusting the TB cable no change, and yes i have new valve springs on the heads, what could be the culprit of this problem, replies and imput appreciated..

Holy Sh** 28 views no replies, ethier nobody likes me or they dont know jack about transmissions.. :(

First thing I would do is call the builder to see if they reused your governor or replaced it with another one. Also check and make sure your TV cable is actually hooked to the linkage inside the trans.

wrong valve body or governor,or a defective or leaking tv limit valve in the valve body causing the tv valve to be fed less than the required 90 psi.if it is ice cold can you get at least one 4900 to 5200 rpm upshift before it craps out?do you get a wot 2/1 kickdown in manual 2 @15mph?

hey chris

seems like the car slips on 1st gear several times before shifting into second then when it shifts into second it shifts lower than its suppouse too like around 4,200 to 4,800 rpm causing the car to fall on its face then when the rpm's go up it takes off again, what could be causing this, can a bad torque convertor cuase this, i have a 9 inch NL art carr convertor on the car right now... thanks

I am having EXACTLY the same problem also with 4700 rpm 2/3. And Chris, No 2/1 kickdown at all, it wll just slowly spool from 15-20 mph in 2nd gear.

Same here.
