Piece of 1/4 hose ( actually 3/16 in. is a perfect fit) slipped over the vent tube and run down the side and to the rear of trans. I have a small Gatorade bottle cable tied to the trans. Drill correct size hole in lid. That's as cheap as it gets. If you have your pump out of trans you can drill a hole in the fourth friction shield. Line hole up with pop off in back of pump. If pump is putting out GOOD pressure and could possobly pop off --then fluid will go through hole in shield instead of out tube.

I have a hole drilled on "top" actually the side of the jar to vent, and easily drain excess fluid, by rotating on it's side..
