tranny heating up?

I posted a similar question to this in one of the other forums. . it seems my tranny is heating up more than normal under normal driving conditions. My center console over the tranny in the car gets VERY hot to the touch. So much that one could feel heat coming up from underneath where the ashtray is. I was told in the other forum that it might be the transmission heating up. What should I look for next? Thanks!

I would first take a true trans temp reading. Read the fluid temp coming out of the transmission. If that is high, you need to make sure your radiator is flowing the fluid through properly. Make sure those things are right first and then go from there. Let us know what you find. Mark

it may be the catalitic convertor overheating.look under the car when the heat is generating and see if the cat is getting red.
